She's aware that she's funny....she found her favorite color!  What a goof, it's a good thing I allow exploration of all kinds (within reason).  She cracks herself up. At our school's first staff meeting, we watched this video.  Not only was it funny, but made me think! If you can find the time, watch it (and then watch the children).  Grab some coffee, it's worth it!

Today we went to our local farm and picked our own flowers!  It was so hot, but very fun.  The girls got to choose their own flowers, straight from the Earth, to create their own arrangements.  Most of them were given to our neighbor for her birthday, but we did make one for our living room.   Our Flower Arranging Activity on the shelf.  Tray, scissors, long and uncut fresh flowers.  Off to the side we have a collection of vases and vessels for arranging.  We picked so many today, some of our pouring vessels were used for flowers :) This arrangement was made by Peanut, age 3.  It really cheers our living room up! Last weekend the girls and I were so very busy!  We were deep into a 3 step project, and boy it was fun. First, we used blue Elmers glue to decorate a white sheet (any white cloth will work, even tshirts).  White glue does not work as well, make sure to use blue.   Once it really dry, say 12 hours or overnight, its time to paint! We used 50/50 water and acrylic paints.  It took a while to wash off, even in a pool.  Hey, it's worth it. Wash the glue off by soaking it in warm/hot water for a few hours.  I actually ran mine in the washing machine, which saved me a ton of time.  Now that they are dry, I may just make our playroom some curtains!

The girls were jumping up and down!  Happy to have a pretty way to show off our Montessori work in our playroom.  The shelves are Ribba from IKEA.  They are also perfect for the Sandpaper Letters, you would need 4 of them for all the letters.
