Cards and Counters for Odd/Even

She loved it!! The idea that if a number did not have a partner, the number is odd stuck with her. I saved the old circles from an old game I almost threw out! She continued to an extension from Montessori For Everyone, linked here.

Apple Printing

After last week's apple picking adventure, we have A LOT of apples. I think all of us are tired of eating them, so we craft! Using tempera paint, with water and dishsoap added, we painted a halved McIntosh apple. Stamp, stamp, stamp, repeat. Lots of fun, I may frame these. Big sister took hers to school for show and tell for the color of the week: RED!

One, Two, Three!

Sarah has been rote counting like this; one, two, one, two, one. Today was big for her. While making sure she doesn't mouth the beads (hey, we are two..) I did the initial lesson for myself while she watched. My turn, Mama? One, two, three, four....
Hooray for these little milestones!!!

Good Finds at Target

These cards are great! Information on each item is all over the back, and the photos are beautiful. I found these at Target in the dollar section. We are looking at bugs lately, so I bought two for matching. Hooray for $2!!!!

Apple Picking Adventures

The weather in New England is perfection lately. Cool breeze and warm sun. We got the chance today to pick McIntosh apples together. The hayride took us all over the farm, where we were able to see the farm's irrigation system from a manmade pond. Delicious fun!
